Description

Elija has 38 years of experience in the petrochemical industry. He joined LUKOIL in 2015 as Managing Director Petrochemical Projects with his primary area of responsibility downstream development efforts related to the associated gas produced from Lukoil’s WQ - 2 oil operations.

Prior to joining LUKOIL, Elija was Vice President, Business Development for Chevron Phillips Chemical Company LLC, a position he held since 2010, responsible for petrochemical project development in the Middle East and Asia regions.  In 2001, he served as Project Director for CPChem’s integrated benzene – styrene project located in Al Jubail, Saudi Arabia before being appointed President of the SCP-JCP Joint Venture in 2004.  As president, his responsibility included personal and process safety, operating profit/loss, project budget controls, staffing for commissioning & start-up, commercial agreements, logistics, government & partner relations, security and other various related functional areas. 

Elija started his career as an ammonia plant operator in Pocatello, Idaho in 1979 and has held positions of increasing responsibility in operations, planning & analysis and product management. He moved on to international business development in positions from project analyst to general project manager.  He worked on or directed project teams developing projects in Venezuela, Indonesia, Nigeria, Singapore, Kazakhstan and Saudi Arabia.  

Andjelich received a Bachelor of Science degree from Purdue University, a Master of Science degree in International Management from Purdue and an Advanced Degree in Business from Budapest University of Economic Sciences.
